Some of Mentimeter's most useful features are powered by AI. These include creating Mentimeter presentations with the Create with AI feature, or grouping responses by theme for Open Ended questions. These features are powered by OpenAI and are enabled by default for all accounts.
Enterprise workspaces have the option to disable Mentimeter’s AI features for their workspaces. To disable these features, Enterprise workspace owners can toggle the “AI tools” setting within the Workspace Settings menu.
Connecting Menti to third-party AI Assistants (e.g. ChatGPT or Claude)
Mentimeter lets you create and manage Mentis from certain third-party AI assistants (currently ChatGPT and Claude). This requires two workspace settings to be turned on: AI tools (the existing setting used by our in-app AI Menti Builder) and the new third-party AI assistant connections setting. Both settings are managed by workspace owners/admins in Workspace Settings → General. If either is off, creating Mentis from an AI assistant will not work. This can be disabled at any time. Some things to keep in mind:
We receive only the minimum information needed to act on your request: your instructions and where relevant the audience, tone, language and slide count you specify. We do not receive your full conversation history with the AI assistant.
Your request is authenticated against your existing Mentimeter Account (via OAuth). The AI assistant does not receive or store your Mentimeter password.
We do not use the content of your instructions to train AI models, consistent with our existing commitment in the Terms.
Your data continues to be handled according to your Account's regional hosting: EU Account data is processed within our EU infrastructure and US Account data within our US infrastructure, regardless of which AI assistant you connect to.
The AI assistant provider (e.g. OpenAI or Anthropic) separately processes your conversation with the assistant under its own privacy policy, acting as an independent controller for that processing. We recommend reviewing their privacy policy before connecting an AI assistant to your Account.
