Add and manage comments on slides in the Edit view

Leave comments on a slide's Edit view as a note to yourself or to collaborate with others.

You can leave comments on any slide in the Edit view of a Mentimeter presentation - as a note to yourself for later, or to communicate with colleagues when collaborating.

You can comment on your own presentations and on any presentation you've been invited to collaborate on, regardless of your plan: users on any plan can be invited with comment permission.

Note: slide comments are a different feature from audience comments and chat during your presentation. This article covers editor comments between collaborators; audience chat lets participants send comments while you present.

How to add a comment to a slide

There are two ways to add a comment in the Edit view:

From the Comments tab:

  1. Open your presentation in the Edit view.

  2. Click the Comments tab in the panel on the right side.

  3. Type your comment in the text field and submit it.

From the slide thumbnail:

  1. In the slide panel on the left, click the three dots (…) next to the slide's thumbnail.

  2. Select Add comment from the menu.

The three-dots menu open next to a slide thumbnail in the Mentimeter Edit view, with the Add comment option visible.

How to view, reply to, edit, or delete comments

All comments for a slide are collected in the Comments tab. From there you can:

  • Reply to any comment to continue the discussion.

  • Edit or delete your own comments. You cannot delete other people's comments.

  • Resolve any comment, including comments left by others.

Where do resolved comments go?

Resolving a comment hides it from the main Comments tab, it is not deleted. To see resolved comments again, click "Show X resolved comments" in the Comments tab (where X is the number of resolved comments).

How do I know when someone comments on my presentation?

You are notified of new comments by email and by in-app notification - the bell icon in your Mentimeter dashboard. Both notification types are turned on by default; you can change this in your account settings. See How to manage your Notifications in Mentimeter.

Who can see comments?

Comments are visible only in the Edit view, to you and the collaborators on the presentation. Your audience never sees comments — not in the Presentation view, not on their voting devices, and not in shared results.
