When you run a Menti through your LMS, you can sync grades from the session back to your LMS gradebook.
Once your session has results and the correct LMS settings are in place, you can manually sync grades from the LMS. You’ll be shown a modal where you can choose which grade type to sync. You can only choose one grade type sync option per session.
Grade sync is available for all LMS integrations. To use it, students must join the Menti through the LMS and be logged in. Grade sync is not available for anonymous Mentis.
Grade type sync options
There are three grade type sync options: attendance, participation and quiz accuracy.
Attendance
Use attendance if you want to track whether students joined the Menti and answered at least one question.
Students need to answer at least one question to receive a grade for attendance. If a student joins the session but does not answer any questions, they will receive a 0.
This option is useful when you want to grade students based on whether they actively attended and engaged with the Menti, rather than how many questions they answered or whether their answers were correct.
Participation
Use participation if you want to track how much each student contributed during the Menti. This option is useful when you want to encourage students to take part throughout the session.
Participation is calculated based on the number of interactive questions a student responded to. The more interactive questions they answer, the higher their participation score will be.
If a student only answers some of the interactive questions, they will receive a lower score than a student who answered all of them.
If your Menti includes both quiz and non-quiz slides, all answers count toward the participation score, regardless of slide type.
Quiz accuracy
Use quiz accuracy if you want to grade students based on whether they answered quiz questions correctly.
Quiz accuracy only counts quiz-type questions. In Mentimeter, this means:
Select Answer slides
Type Answer slides
If your Menti includes both quiz and non-quiz slides, only the quiz slides will count toward the quiz accuracy score. If your Menti does not include any quiz questions, no quiz accuracy score can be calculated.
This option is useful when you want to assess students based on correct answers rather than general participation.
Syncing and updating grades
Grades are synced manually by the teacher.
If students answer more questions after you have already synced grades, you can sync again. The new sync will overwrite the previous grades in the LMS with the latest available results.
This means you can re-sync grades if students come back later and complete more of the Menti.
Which grade type should I choose?
Choose attendance if you only need to know whether students joined and answered at least one question.
Choose participation if you want to grade students based on how much they contributed across the Menti.
Choose quiz accuracy if you want to grade students based on correct answers to quiz questions.
