Leaving an existing workspace

If you’re looking to leave a free workspace to join an Enterprise workspace, you can follow the steps in this article.

Who can leave on their own: only members of a free workspace can remove themselves. If you're in a paid or Enterprise workspace, the workspace owner or admin must remove you, see "Leaving a paid or Enterprise workspace" below. You can find the owner of your workspace in the Manage Members page.

Leaving a free workspace

1. Go to your Account settings page.

2. Scroll down to the Leave workspace section and click the Leave workspace button.

The Leave workspace section sits near the bottom of Account settings, above Delete account:

The Mentimeter Account settings page. Near the bottom, the Leave workspace section shows the text 'You'll lose access to this workspace' and a Leave workspace button, above the Delete account section.

3. A confirmation window titled "Are you sure you want to leave?" opens. Enter your reason for leaving in the text field (up to 250 characters) and review the list of what happens when you leave.

Mentimeter's 'Are you sure you want to leave?' confirmation window. It lists what happens when you leave the workspace, includes a required text field labeled 'What is your main reason for leaving?', and shows Cancel and Leave workspace buttons.

4. You will be restored to a single user account. If you have been invited to join an Enterprise workspace you can accept an invitation to join or log in using SSO.

Leaving a paid or Enterprise workspace

Members of a paid workspace or an Enterprise workspace can't remove themselves. Ask the owner of your workspace to remove your account. You can find who owns your workspace on the Manage members page.

What happens to your presentations when you leave a workspace

When you leave a Mentimeter workspace:

  • You lose access to the shared workspace.

  • Your own presentations and results stay with you, accessible in your free account.

  • Content you shared with the workspace remains available to the workspace.

  • Content you created but didn't share becomes inaccessible to the workspace.
