See historical data with sessions and trends

Ask the same questions several times and compare results over time

With Mentimeter it is possible to re-use a presentation, by creating a new historical session, as many times as you need as a Presenter. This can be used for instances where you would like to present again, gathering time-specific results for the same audience, or presenting to a new audience. To learn how to create a new historical session, for the same presentation, check out this help article.

By creating a new session, this makes it possible to collect and compare answers from each time the questions are asked, in order to identify trends. If you work in a business setting, the use of trends, for example, can be especially useful when administering a pulse check for employees, to gauge how the results change over time. Be creative and feel free to adapt this handy feature to your own needs.

See historical data and trends in Menti Live

Once you have reset results and collected your answers from different sessions, you can access and compare the historical data.

Viewing past sessions on the Results page

The quickest way to see results from a past session is the Sessions list on the Results page. It appears on the left when your Menti Live has more than one session, with the newest first.

Then select the session you want to view:

Past sessions are read-only. You can view and delete them, but you can't edit their results. It is also not possible to use features such as AI Key Insights or AI Grouping for Open Ended slides when viewing old sessions. To get every session in one file, export your results to Excel.

Viewing past sessions while presenting

  1. Start the Menti Live and navigate to a slide where you have previously received responses

  2. Click on the three dots in the Presentation menu at the bottom of the slide and select Show history

3. Choose any of the previous sessions

Please Note: This Show History button will only be accessible on Interactive Slides (slides that can receive responses) and not Content slides.

How to show trends

If you have more than two sessions for a Scales or a Multiple Choice slide, it is possible to show a visual representation of how the results change over time. A button will appear at the bottom-left of the screen called Show trends.

You will then see a graph showing how results have changed through the different sessions:

Kindly note, the trends feature is currently only available for Scales slides and Multiple Choice slides.

See historical data in Menti Form

To view historical results in a Menti Form, you can export your results to Excel. The exported file will show all previous results divided by session.

To do this, click on the Export Excel button in the bottom right corner of the Results page:

See historical data in Menti Pulse

You will see historical results for your Menti Pulse automatically in the Results page. It will show how your average responses have evolved over time in the given date range, the overall average score and the trend for the week.
