Mentimeter performs optimally when used directly in a web browser, but our PowerPoint add-in offers a faster and lighter approach to integrating Mentimeter questions into your PowerPoint presentations.
Here are the requirements for Mentimeter’s PowerPoint add-in to get you started:
Access
To create a seamless experience for our audience within PowerPoint, and to establish a connection between a PowerPoint presentation and a Mentimeter presentation, the add-in requires having write and read access to the PowerPoint document.
Write/Modification access: required for the add-in to be able to save unique Mentimeter IDs to the PowerPoint document. This enables Mus to relate a Mentimeter presentation and its questions to a PowerPoint presentation.
Read access: required for the add-in to be able to read the previously saved unique IDs, and to ensure and keep the relation between the Mentimeter presentation and its questions and the PowerPoint presentation.
Can send data over the internet: required for the add-in to be able to provide the intended Mentimeter user experience within PowerPoint. The add-in never sends any data that is related to the actual contents of the PowerPoint presentation.
Additionally, Windows users must have a correctly installed version of WebView2 in order to use the PowerPoint add-in. More information and download links for this requirement can be found in this Microsoft article.
It is important to mention that the Mentimeter PowerPoint add-in does not read or modify any content in the PowerPoint presentation. It solely reads and modifies the Mentimeter presentation ID and its corresponding question IDs, which are necessary to establish a connection between the Mentimeter presentation, questions, and the PowerPoint presentation.
