As a presenter, you can decide if participants need to log in before joining your presentation. Logged in participants allow for greater control and transparency in audience interactions by verifying all participants who try to access the Menti.
Keep in mind that requiring participants to log in is only available for Enterprise subscriptions.
How to set up Verified Participants
Activate the Login Required feature
Open your Menti in the Editor view.
In the Interactivity tab, toggle the option "Participants are required to log in" under Login Required.
Now when your participants join the presentation, they will be asked to log in before participating:
Pro tip: For increased psychological safety and attendance tracking, use our Participant names feature together with the Login required feature. This way you can both control access, and know exactly who has participated and who responded what.
Want to understand what participants see when you toggle this on? Check this out to learn more about joining a Menti as a logged in user.
Participant login and participant names
Note that requiring participants to log in can be used to control who can access your presentation, but it does not mean that participants' responses are automatically linked to their identity.
In order to know who answered what, you can combine this Login required feature with the Participant names feature. This way you can both control access, and know exactly who has participated and who responded what.
Here's a brief comparison of what each of these settings controls:
Login required: only those with permission can access the presentation and participate
Participant names are required: the presenter and editors can see participant names in the Results page
Show names to participants: the presenter and participants can see participant names live in the presentation
Check out this article to learn more about how to combine these features to match your use case.
Best practices for sessions with logged in users
Communicate that users will be required to login in advance.
If unsure who can login, check with your organization's IDP admin.
Use this feature when transparency, attendance tracking or enhanced security is necessary.
Do not change this setting during your session. Once you have started receiving responses from participants, you will not be able to change the setting without first resetting the results.
Troubleshooting
Participants unable to join: In order to join a presentation where login is required, participants need to be in the Participant SSO configuration. Therefore, this current feature version will likely make it difficult for you to include participants from users outside of your organisation (depending on your internal policies).
