Turn on audience reactions in your Menti

Let your audience react with symbols like a heart or thumbs up while you present.

Reactions let your audience send quick feedback, like a heart or a question mark, while participating in your Menti, helping you gauge how your presentation is landing in real time. Reactions are available on all Mentimeter plans, work on every slide type including content slides, and can be sent in both Presentation mode and Survey mode.

Which reactions can my audience send?

You can enable any combination of five reaction symbols, depending on the kind of feedback you want:

  • Heart

  • Question mark

  • Thumbs up

  • Thumbs down

  • Cat (just for fun)

For example, in a content-heavy presentation the question mark helps you spot when the audience is confused, while the cat adds a playful touch. Choose whichever combination suits your audience.

How to turn reactions on

Reactions are managed for the presentation as a whole, the symbols you select apply to all slides.

  1. Open your Menti in the Edit view.

  2. Open the Participant settings tab on the right-hand side.

  3. Click the reaction symbols you want to make available to your audience. Selected symbols will be visible to participants on every slide.

How to turn reactions off

To disable reactions, go to the same place, the Participant settings tab in the Edit view, and deselect all the reaction symbols. Participants will no longer be able to send reactions.

Where do reactions appear?

Participants send reactions from their own devices. During a live presentation, the symbols animate in the bottom-right corner of the presentation screen, so both you and the room see the audience's response in the moment.
