Menti Pulse is currently in Beta and will, for now, require manual installation in Microsoft Teams. You can do this by either:
Adding the app to your specific team in Microsoft Teams, if your organisation's policies allow it.
Installing it with the help of your IT admin for your entire Microsoft Teams tenant.
Menti Pulse is currently only supported in Microsoft Teams.

1. Adding Menti Pulse to your specific team
If your organisation's policies allow team owners to upload custom apps, this is the fastest way to get started. Otherwise, refer to section 2 below to install it across your tenant via your IT admin.
Download the Menti Pulse app package zip from https://pulse.mentimeter.com/menti-pulse.zip.
Click “Apps” in the Microsoft Teams sidebar menu.
Click “Manage your apps” (on bottom of the left hand side of your screen) > “Upload an app” (in the top bar) > “Upload a custom app” and select the
menti-pulse.zipfile.Click “Add” when the Menti Pulse app screen appears and choose the channel you want to post in.
The app is now available to your team and can be triggered through the “+” menu in your teams chats (’Actions and apps’ menu).
2. Installing Menti Pulse for your Microsoft Teams tenant
For broader rollout, ask an IT admin with Microsoft Teams admin permissions to follow these steps.
Download the Menti Pulse app package zip from https://pulse.mentimeter.com/menti-pulse.zip.
Upload the app package
Go to Teams Admin Center > Teams apps (sidebar) > Manage apps.
Click Actions > Upload new app and select the
menti-pulse.zipfile you downloaded.
Set availability and decide who can use the app
Open the ‘Menti Pulse’ app on the Manage Apps page.
Click Users and groups tab > Availability > Edit availability.
If you want it accessible to everyone:
Confirm that it says “Available to: Everyone”.
If you want to give access to specific users and groups:
Choose "Specific users or groups".
Add the relevant security group, M365 group, or individual users for the pilot.
Note: if your Teams workspace doesn’t have access to App Centric Management, see App Permission Policies instead
4. Pre-install the Menti Pulse app on user's Teams clients.
Go to Teams apps (sidebar) > Setup Policies.
Under Installed apps, click “Add apps”.
Search for Menti Pulse and select it, then click “Add the app”.
Click “Save” and then “Confirm” at the bottom on the Setup Policies page.
The app is now available to your team and can be triggered through the “+” menu in your Teams chats (’Actions and apps’ menu).

Permissions & Access
What permissions does Menti Pulse request and why?
Menti Pulse uses standard Microsoft Teams app permissions and does not require Microsoft 365 admin consent. Within the channels and group chats where it's installed, the app reads basic membership information (so it can show response rates on pulses) and can send private notifications to pulse creators about their pulses. Menti Pulse cannot read your messages or conversations — it only reacts to actions you take, like creating a pulse or casting a vote.
Can Menti Pulse access or read Teams messages or conversations?
No. Menti Pulse cannot read any messages or conversations. It only receives events when you explicitly interact with it, for example when you create a pulse or cast a vote.
Does Menti Pulse require a Mentimeter license?
No. During the beta, Menti Pulse is free to use for anyone with access to the app in Teams. Neither pulse creators nor voters need a Mentimeter license.
Security & Data
What data does Menti Pulse collect?
Menti Pulse stores your display name, email address, an anonymous identifier from your Microsoft account, and an identifier for your Microsoft 365 organisation (so pulses stay scoped to your workspace). Your pulse responses and any feedback you submit are stored alongside this identifier. Menti Pulse does not collect content from your Teams messages or conversations.
Where is data stored?
Data is stored on Mentimeter's existing platform, hosted on AWS in the EU (eu-west-1) and US (us-east-1) regions.
What happens to data if the app is removed?
Uninstalling the app from Teams removes the bot's ability to post or update pulse cards, but does not automatically delete your pulse data from Mentimeter's servers. You can delete individual pulses or entire pulse series from within the app before uninstalling.
Does Menti Pulse share data with third parties?
No. Data is only exchanged between Microsoft Teams and Mentimeter's own servers. No data is shared with any third party.
Deployment & Usage
Who can install and deploy the app?
If your organisation allows it, any team owner can install it for their specific team (see option 1 above). A Microsoft Teams admin can also install it for the entire organisation (see option 2 above).
Can access be restricted to certain groups?
Yes. In the Teams Admin Center, admins can control exactly who has access:
Limit the app to specific users or security groups via the Users and groups tab on the app's management page.
Remove the app from the organisation catalog at any time to disable it entirely.
Where can I use Menti Pulse?
Menti Pulse works in team channels and group chats. You'll also find a My Pulses tab in your Teams sidebar where you can see all the pulses you've created and their results. Menti Pulse is not currently supported in meeting chats.
