Our new SSO flow provides improved scalability, flexibility, and security. The key change is that your workspace will now have its own unique SSO details, which need to be configured in your identity provider. Additionally, with the new SSO version we require your workspace to verify your email domains, as this will improve the user experience when signing in with SSO to Mentimeter.

If your workspace is still using our legacy SSO flow, please update your configuration to the new setup to prevent service disruptions that could block users from signing into their Mentimeter accounts. As a workspace admin, you can check your current configuration status by visiting the Mentimeter SSO Setup page.

Pre-requisites for updating

  • Ensure you are signed in to Mentimeter as a workspace admin/owner and have access to the SSO setup page: Mentimeter SSO Setup.

  • Ensure you have admin access to your identity provider so you can edit the existing SAML application.

If these tasks are handled by different people or teams, please coordinate your efforts. We recommend scheduling an internal meeting with all necessary resources to complete the update smoothly.

How to update your SAML SSO configuration

  1. Visit the Mentimeter SSO setup page as the workspace admin/owner: Mentimeter SSO Setup.

  2. Update the Mentimeter application in your Identity Provider. Ensure the application is configured with the new details provided on the Mentimeter SSO setup page, then save the changes.

  3. Confirm the switch to the new SSO flow by clicking the "Switch to the new SSO version" button.

  4. Test your SSO configuration. To ensure everything works smoothly, we recommend testing the sign-in process to Mentimeter via SSO after switching to the new flow. It’s best to do this in a private browsing window.

This is what the process will look like if you're organisation uses EntraID/AzureAD as your identity provider:

Please note, it is crucial to complete all of these steps in their entirety and in close succession to prevent any interruptions to the SSO login feature for your users. Partially completing the steps will result in service disruptions.
