Sometimes you may be in a situation where not everyone in your audience has their own device. One example of this might be in a classroom, where several students are sharing one smartphone or another device. If you find yourself in this situation, it is still possible to enable each audience member to interact with Mentimeter themselves even if they are sharing a device. You will be able to do this with the Mentimeter Pro subscription.

How to set it up

In order to enable this function, you need to make sure that you have selected the right Presentation mode.

  1. Go to the Settings menu by clicking the icon in the top left side of the screen

  2. Select Survey under Type of Menti

  3. Toggle "Multiple submissions per device"

How to vote on a shared device

You should prompt your audience to share their devices, to make sure that everyone has the chance to submit their answers. The first person should go through the whole presentation and vote on all the questions.

At the end of the presentation, they need to click "Participate again" to reload the presentation, so that someone else can vote on the questions from the same device. The votes will then be counted separately, meaning that everyone can take part in your interactive presentation!

For free users: If you would like to let your audience vote several times per device, it is possible to do so on Open Ended and Word Cloud question types.
