All that is needed for you to start using Mentimeter is an internet-connected device. That's it! No installations, no downloads. As we're entirely browser-based, you can use Mentimeter on any device, in almost any context.

Of course, there are some factors that are important for an optimal experience: your device, web browser and internet connection.

We recommend that you use a desktop computer for setting up your questions and presenting. The usual way to present is to connect the computer to a projector, but feel free to try other ways!

Your Mentimeter presentations look absolutely best in widescreen (16:8 - 16:9 aspect ratio), but common projector formats such as 4:3 are also supported. All elements in your presentation rescale and reposition themselves automatically, so you never need to worry about having the wrong format.

For the voters, the most common is to simply use a smartphone. You can read more about recommended devices for voters in this article.

Mentimeter supports all major web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). We strongly recommend you to always use the latest version - both because it's safer and because it will make Mentimeter (and all your other favorite software) run smoother.
